On Friday, October 17, Signature Staff Cairns had the honour of attending the Cairns Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards 2025, an annual celebration recognising the outstanding achievements of local businesses that continue to strengthen the economy and community of Far North Queensland.

The event was held at the Cairns Convention Centre, a venue close to our hearts — not only as guests this time, but also as proud supporters behind the scenes. Fifteen members of our Signature Staff team were working at the event, delivering their usual professionalism and exceptional service. It was wonderful to see our people contributing both in front of and behind the scenes to such a prestigious occasion.

From the moment we arrived at 6:00 PM, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and connection. Guests enjoyed a welcoming reception with cocktails, a photo station, and the chance to meet other finalists from different industries. Later, we moved into the grand ballroom for an elegant dinner while Tammy and JB from Triple M hosted the ceremony, announcing the winners of each award category.

The night recognised excellence across multiple categories, including Marketing and Communications, Innovation, People Management, Customer Service, Sustainability and Environmental, Emerging Leader, Community Contribution, Indigenous Business, and Business Resilience.

We were proud to be named finalists in the Business Resilience category, alongside Freshwater Small Engines, NORSTA Maritime, and Superyacht Group Great Barrier Reef, who took home the award this year. Congratulations to them for their continued contribution to the region and to all nominees who demonstrate excellence and innovation in their fields.

Representing Signature Staff at the ceremony were:
  • Vlasta Eriksson, Director and Founder

  • Jack Donald, General Manager

  • Tea Featon, Compliance Manager

  • Stacey Rodman, Temporary Placement Officer

  • Jodie Pettitt, Business Relationship Manager (Townsville)

  • Tania Mazzer, Accounts and Payroll Officer

  • Alek Eriksson, Content Creator and Administration Assistant

  • Lorena Oriundo, Content Creator and Recruitment Assistant

Special guests:
  • Bernie Hook, BNI NQ Franchise Owner

  • Bernice Cooper, Finance Manager

As the formalities came to a close, guests enjoyed a lively atmosphere with live music and dancing, wrapping up a truly memorable evening of celebration and community spirit.

Being recognised as a finalist for the Business Resilience Award is a meaningful milestone for us. It reflects nearly 30 years of dedication as a leading recruitment agency in Cairns and Townsville, our commitment to supporting local employment, and the passion we share for connecting great people with great opportunities.

– Vlasta Eriksson.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the businesses recognised at this year’s Cairns Business Awards. Events like these remind us of the incredible talent, innovation, and resilience that make the Cairns region thrive — and we’re proud to be part of it.
