Our client is an organisation focused on empowering Indigenous communities in Far North Queensland. With efforts centred around education, employment, housing, health, and cultural preservation, they are dedicated to driving policy advancements and structural improvements on a national scale.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Cleaning Supervisor to lead their cleaning team and ensure facilities are consistently maintained to the highest standard. This hands-on leadership role involves coordinating daily cleaning operations, managing schedules, and upholding safety and hygiene practices. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to drive a team to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of cleaning professionals, allocate daily tasks, and monitor team performance while providing on-the-job training and performance feedback.
  • Create and manage cleaning schedules tailored to operational needs, conduct regular inspections to ensure quality and compliance, and oversee the use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Promote safe work practices, enforce adherence to safety policies, train team members on correct handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and identify and address potential hazards to ensure a safe environment.
  • Regularly audit cleaning standards, implement improvements as needed, address and resolve client concerns professionally, and maintain high standards of service delivery across all areas.
  • Manage staff rosters, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance logs, assist with budgeting and cost controls for cleaning operations, and prepare operational reports while providing input for quoting and tenders.

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial cleaning
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning duties as required.
  • Current Working with Children Blue Card and Police Check.
  • C-Class Driver Licence.
  • CPCCOHS1001A certification (Work Safely in the Construction Industry).

Desirable Attributes

  • Qualification in cleaning operations, facilities management, or a related field.
  • 1 year experience in a leadership role.
